JOHN ALLEN FONTENOT
October 4, 1937 - February 1, 2010
MAMOU - Funeral services were held for John Allen Fontenot, 72, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 3. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Fontenot died at 12:01 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2010, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou after a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Vidrine Fontenot of Mamou; two sons, Dr. John Phil Fontenot and his wife, Hollye, of Opelousas and Jean Batise Fontenot and his wife, Penny, of Hawaii; three daughters, Penny McDaniel and her husband, Steve, and Tori Landry and her husband, Ray, all of Ville Platte, and Rachel Manuel and her husband, Scott, of Mamou; two brothers, Lettell (Buzz) Fontenot of Mamou and Larry Fontenot of Broussard; and 12 grandchildren.
