Robert DeBlieux, former Natchitoches mayor

NATCHITOCHES -- Services will be Thursday for former mayor Robert DeBlieux, who died Sunday at age 77.
DeBlieux, a US Army veteran, was a historian, preservationist, painter, author and businessman.
During his years as mayor, he helped created the Natchitoches Historic District. He later served as assistant secretary of the Office of Cultural Development under Govs. Dave Treen and Edwin Edwards.
Survivors include two daughters.
Arrangements are under direction of Blanchard St. Denise.
