Corey Thomas, 17, who resides between Opelousas and Ville Platte, was charged with burglary and theft for an incident in January.
Sgt. Joseph “Plywood” Fontenot, Ville Platte Police Department, said Thomas allegedly broke into a house in the 600 block of East Long St. and took a television and computer. Both items were recovered.
An investigation occurred and Thomas was charged. Fontenot said another suspect is being identified. He said this case was the result of people calling the department with information.
Chief Neal Lartigue thanked the public for its continued assistance and encouraged them to continue calling. He said all callers will remain anonymous.
