Torian Paige Veillon, the 17-year-old daughter of Kevin and Dalayne Veillon of Ville Platte, was crowned Saturday afternoon, April 5, as Boggy Bayou’s 30th queen. The annual pageant was held during the 30th Annual Boggy Bayou Festival at the fairgrounds April 3-5.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, The Boggy Bayou Festival Board had a poster created to depict the festival’s meaning. Lafayette artist Tony Bernard created the poster that features a fleur de lis with a bayou scene inside. On Monday, March 31, members of the Boggy Bayou board unveiled the special festival poster.

The Junior, Teen and Miss Ville Platte Pageant was held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center. This special event was emceed by Torian Paige Veillon and is annually sponsored by the Ville Platte Women’s Association and co-sponsored by the City of Ville Platte.
