The Ville Platte City Council held a special meeting Wednesday, September 16, to officially pass an ordinance to allow the city to collect property tax for the renovation of the city’s aging water system.

One arrest warrant was executed Thursday by Ville Platte Police, who are searching for another man and planning more arrests in a case involving stolen furniture from a local business.

Pine Prairie and Eunice officers join forces on burglary cases

An investigation into a string of burglaries in the Eunice area led authorities to uncover information of a burglary in the Pine Prairie area, which caused the two agencies in these communities to join investigative forces to locate evidence and other information in their two cases.

Firefighters undergo training

Firefighters from Ville Platte, Faubourg and Belaire Cove attended an LSU Fire Training Class, led by LSU instructor Donald Milligan, Tuesday, September 15. The class on pump operation began at the Lincoln Road Fire Station, and then attendees traveled to a pond, located off Rue de Coton in the Tate Cove area to do some hands-on training.
