Rapid Energy offers green mud alternative

Eco-friendly green drilling mud replaces diesel oil-based mud in Haynesville Shale drilling project.

Lafayette, LA - Rapid Energy Services, LLC today announced the commercial use of its Quantum EF drilling mud system as a environmentally sound alternative to diesel oil based muds in a Haynesville Shale drilling project.

Quantum EF uses all natural, plant-derived ingredients to provide a drilling fluid that is totally biodegradable. The major phase of the Quantum EF is water and the minor phase, approximately 20 percent, are plant derived ingredients.

Utility assistance available for elderly through LIHEAP

The Evangeline Community Action Agency Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) will be taking utility assistance appointments for the elderly (60 years and older) only of Evangeline Parish.

Pine Prairie Dixie Youth will conduct baseball registration Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Pine Prairie gym. Cost is $40 for the first child and $20 for each additional child. Signup for coaches and board members will be taken at this time.
