Roy takes week five, Picks lock in tie
After half of the high school season has been concluded, both the Pigskin Picks and the Football Contest is completely wide open. Both contests run for 13 weeks, so we are not quite at the halfway mark yet. The standings in both contests will at the midway mark.
Week five saw a rare occurrence in the football contest. Ville Platte resident, Shawn Roy, accurately predicted 19 out of 20 games. His 19-1 mark put him in first place for the week. Joe Maggio was right behind him in second place and Kevin Guillory managed to sneak in at third place. Its the third time this year, Guillory places in the top three of the contest.
The Pigskin Picks saw a large tie across the board. Sports Editor Lance Reed and Circulation Manager Jennifer Allison tied for first place with 7-3 grades. After that, every other contestant in the Pigskin Picks went 6-4 for the week.
With so many big games on the agenda in week six, the standings should continue to shift in both contests. Keep your eye on the action or join in!
