Fishing in Henderson is still great for the bream in the woods, on the mounds (where the line of trees are and are covered with water right now). Use crickets or worms. I did really good with a black/chartreuse tube jig tipped with a nibblet. For the bream this weekend, fish in the Butte La Rose Canal, Phillips and in the Boulevard.

The lake starting to fall a little bit, not much yet. We don’t want it to fall too fast so that it does not cause a fish kill with the bad water coming out the woods.

Sac-a-lait fishing is still slow but a few are being caught, in the North Flats and the Bar Pits and also the Butte La Rose Canal. Use some shiners or jigs, black/chartreuse, red/blue/chartreuse and red/olive/chartreuse. Fish about 2-1/2 feet down along the banks and around cypress trees.

Bass fishing is good with some topwater baits and some frogs in Junebug, watermelon red, and pumpkin colors. Fish around willow mounds and some of the drains, in the same areas as the sac-a-lait.

Lake Martin is on fire with the bream, too. And Bayou Amy, as soon as the water clears, will be good also for sac-a-lait and bass.
