Brignac is arrested for theft of money from local law office

An employee of a Ville Platte law firm was booked into jail Friday afternoon after she allegedly took funds from her employer.
The following is a press release from Ville Platte Chief of Police Neal Lartigue.
“On June 6, 2019, the Ville Platte Police Department responded to report of theft at a law office on West Main Street in Ville Platte. According to the report a former employee had used the personal credit card of the business owner as well as company cards to make personal purchases, draft her bills and pay bills. According to the report over $30,000.00 was taken during her time employed at the law firm.”
“Danyelle Brignac 34 of 1300 Maggio Rd., Ville Platte was arrested for one count of felony identity theft and one count of felony theft. Brignac was booked into the Ville Platte City Jail and was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail on a $50,000.00 bond.”
