MAMOU-Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Chapel in Vidrine on Monday, February 12, 2018, for Joseph Charles Boutte, 86, who passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018 in Opelousas.
Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, had conducted the funeral services.
Entombment took place in the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum in Mamou.
Joseph Charles Boutte was born in Mamou, on November 10, 1931 to Charley Boutte and Euna Boutte.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bernadine Deshotel Boutte; one son, Keith Boutte and wife, Linda; four grandchildren, Shane Boutte and wife, Dwana, Brian Boutte, Corey Boutte and wife, Lisa and Haley Drummond and husband, Corey and six great grandchildren, Shaina Boutte, Alaina Boutte, Cain Boutte, Chloe Drummond, Mason Drummond and Ariel Williamson.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Boutte and Euna Young Boutte; one sister, Margaret Boutte and his aunt, Zella Mae Landreneau.
The family requested that visitation be observed Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Mamou on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. A rosary was be recited at 6:00 p.m., by Deacon Chuck Ortego. Visitation continued on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
